What is Respite Care?
Respite care or short stay care allows families, carers and individuals a temporary care solution as and when it’s needed. This type of care may be needed if someone needs round the clock medical attention after a hospital stay or during recovery from a procedure; it may also be needed for those who look after their loved ones or who employ home carers who need a break. The duration of respite care varies on the care needs of the individual or the circumstances of their situation, however, it’s likely to range from a week to a few weeks.
Respite Care at Laurel Care Home:
Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable break for our temporary resident and make sure they have everything they need to enjoy their stay with us. We actively encourage them to join in our variety of social activities whilst also respecting their space if they require it. We tailor our approach based on the individual’s needs and always maintain the same high standard of care that we provide to all of our residents. We regularly accommodate repeat visitors who need care on a routine basis and we love to see them return.
